10 Questions To Make You Think – December

I decided to give you 10 questions to think about every month. They are from a book called Q&A a day. You can read more about it on my previous post. So here are the 10 questions for this month:

    1. On a scale of one to ten, how happy are you?
What made you choose that number? Is there something you can do to improve it?
    2. Who do you miss?
Think of ways you can contact this person more. Maybe you can go visit in 2013.
    3. What is your most recent act of generosity?
Helping other people is proved to have an effect on happiness.
    4. Where do you find joy?

Why You Should Love Those Freckles

“Let someone love you just as you are. As flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you might feel, as unaccomplished as you might think you are. And let that someone be you.” – Sandra King

Sometimes it’s much easier to love and forgive others than yourself. We use words with ourselves that we’d never ever use to speak with others. ‘I can’t believe you did this. You’re so stupid.’ ‘You’re useless’ ‘You can’t do anything right.’ Would you say something similar to this to your friends? So why say it to yourself? You should be your own friend. When you love yourself, you emanate a different energy that makes others like to be around you. It’s like a cycle. So make this your resolution for next year: Love Yourself.

Here are 5 self-love songs to help you work on that:

Pink – F*cking Perfect

You’re so mean when you talk
About yourself. You were wrong.
Change the voices in your head
Make them like you instead.

India.Arie – Video

When I look in the mirror and the only one there is me
Every freckle on my face is where it’s suppose to be
And I know my creator didn’t make no mistakes on me
My feet, my thighs, my Lips, my eyes, I’m loving what I see

Christina Aguilera – Beautiful

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can’t bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can’t bring me down… Oh no
So don’t you bring me down today

Lady Gaga – Born This Way

“There’s nothing wrong with loving who you are”
She said, “‘Cause he made you perfect, babe”
“So hold your head up girl and you’ll go far

Don’t hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you’re set
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

I am not a fan of Lady Gaga but I think these lyrics are kind of awesome so I found this clip from Glee. I really like the idea of the T-shirts:

Mariah Carey – Hero

So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you’ll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

10 Questions To Make You Think – November

I’ve bought a book called Q&A a day. It’s a 5-year journal with one question a day to be answered each year. It’s good because it makes you think about your life at the moment and reflect on things.

Q&A a day

I know I’m a bit late but I decided to select 10 questions from November that might be useful to give you insights about yourself and what you could change or improve. They will make you think about what you’re happy with and what you need to do to achieve more happiness. I plan to post 10 questions at the end of each month.

So here are 10 questions to make you think:

  1. What’s your biggest expense right now?
Since we were talking about money in the last post (10 ways money can buy happiness), this question can help you think if you’re spending your money on something that’s important and worth it. Could you spend less money on that?
  2. What should remain as-is?
Be aware of what is good in your life right now. What if it changed? Take the time to think about how to keep it the same and how to accept and deal with it if it ends up changing.
  3. Where do you find pleasure?
Pleasure is not happiness but it can bring good times. Can you spare some time for your own pleasure? I’m sure you deserve it.
  4. What do you always avoid?
It’s important to think about why you avoid it and what consequences this might have in your life.
  5. Is there anything missing in your life?
It might be something possible to achieve. Why is it missing? Do you really need it? If so, what can you do to achieve it?
  6. What do you have to get done?
Sometimes we postpone things for silly reasons. We’re lazy or it’s hassle but there’s a huge relief in getting something done. So whatever it is, why haven’t you done it yet? Maybe you need more time, maybe you need courage, maybe you need a push.
  7. Who inspires you?
I think a good thing to focus on here is why this person inspires you and how you can inspire others in the same way.
  8. What was the last risk you took?
Risks usually teach us something. They might be scary and have a bad outcome or they might bring something amazing. Either way, you learn.
  9. What five words describe your mood?
Are they good or bad words? If they’re good, appreciate it. If they’re bad, how can you improve your mood?
  10. What song could be your self-portrait?
Songs can have special meanings. If a song is your self-portrait, it better be a positive portrait.
