Why You Should Love Those Freckles

“Let someone love you just as you are. As flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you might feel, as unaccomplished as you might think you are. And let that someone be you.” – Sandra King

Sometimes it’s much easier to love and forgive others than yourself. We use words with ourselves that we’d never ever use to speak with others. ‘I can’t believe you did this. You’re so stupid.’ ‘You’re useless’ ‘You can’t do anything right.’ Would you say something similar to this to your friends? So why say it to yourself? You should be your own friend. When you love yourself, you emanate a different energy that makes others like to be around you. It’s like a cycle. So make this your resolution for next year: Love Yourself.

Here are 5 self-love songs to help you work on that:

Pink – F*cking Perfect

You’re so mean when you talk
About yourself. You were wrong.
Change the voices in your head
Make them like you instead.

India.Arie – Video

When I look in the mirror and the only one there is me
Every freckle on my face is where it’s suppose to be
And I know my creator didn’t make no mistakes on me
My feet, my thighs, my Lips, my eyes, I’m loving what I see

Christina Aguilera – Beautiful

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can’t bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can’t bring me down… Oh no
So don’t you bring me down today

Lady Gaga – Born This Way

“There’s nothing wrong with loving who you are”
She said, “‘Cause he made you perfect, babe”
“So hold your head up girl and you’ll go far

Don’t hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you’re set
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

I am not a fan of Lady Gaga but I think these lyrics are kind of awesome so I found this clip from Glee. I really like the idea of the T-shirts:

Mariah Carey – Hero

So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you’ll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

  1. Loved Sandra King’s quote on the begging. Really beautifull and true words!!
The title made me think a lot about myself…Every day, as the years go by, I have more and more freckles!! I didnt’ have them before and I don’t like them…I call them “the Morgan Freeman freckles”
When I am wearing make up they’re are not so noticeable, but when I’m not…
But as the song says, I have to accept them right? Or maybe cover them better rsrs

  2. Hehehe, Morgan Freeman freckles. Funny that everybody knows, straight away, what those are. 😛

Anyway, I liked the end of Pink’s video. And it’s of course true what you wrote right in the beginning, about the energy you emanate when you like yourself. It’s very true. Positive energy draws people towards it.

Pam, there’s no reason not to like freckles. They are so charming!
