10 Relationship Pieces of Advice Not To Be Ignored

  1. If you’re not happy when you’re not in a relationship, you won’t be happy in one.
  2. It applies the other way around: if you were happy before you met someone, you can be happy after they are gone.
  3. Some people are just bad news, give them time to grow up.
  4. If you consider giving up on someone, you probably already have.

  1. I think that the first and second ones can be summed up to the same idea, that you have to be happy when you’re on your own. There’s no point in looking for the answer to your suffering-anxiety-whatever in somebody else. They are your problems and they will still be there whether you have somebody or not.
Number 4 and 7 are similar, right? But it’s still incredible how much we can ignore these tips. I did it myself for many years, you know. It’s pretty simple, though. If you consider leaving, then you probably already want it, but don’t have the guts to.
Number 9 is one I don’t know if I could ever do. It must be hell to be with a person when you consciously know you don’t want him/her. And number 10 is the hardest, it requires a lot of general awareness and self-respect, besides respect for the others. It also requires a lot of honesty.
